Interim Finance Manager

 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim Finance Manager to join our clients team based in Wellingborough. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, with a focus on treasury responsibilities and the management of our commercial invoice discounting facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial stability, optimising cash flow, and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the organisation.

Salary circa £50k pa pro rata however this is negotiable dependant upon experience

Key Responsibilities:

Treasury Management:

  • Develop and implement effective treasury strategies to optimise cash flow and liquidity.
  • Monitor and manage daily cash positions, ensuring the company's financial stability.
  • Establish relationships with financial institutions to secure competitive financing terms.
  • Evaluate and mitigate financial risks related to currency exchange, interest rates, and other treasury-related exposures.

Commercial Invoice Discounting:

  • Oversee and manage the company's commercial invoice discounting facility.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the discounting facility, making recommendations for improvements or adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with financial partners and negotiate favourable terms.
  • Lead the sales ledger and debt collection process to ensure timely collection of sales ledger amounts and compliance with CID terms.

 

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cash flow statements, budget vs. actual analysis, and other relevant financial reports.
  • Prepare all management accounts on a monthly basis including reconciliation of all key control accounts and maintenance of assets ledgers, accruals and prepayments.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Work closely with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with management to adjust financial plans based on evolving business needs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring their professional development and growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve company-wide financial goals.

 

Qualifications, experience and values:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field or professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of treasury management, cash flow optimisation, and financial risk assessment.
  • Experience in managing commercial invoice discounting facilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Can do attitude, this a roll your sleeve’s up type role.
  • Strong character, able to provide constructive challenge to ownership and other business stakeholders.
