This year has been a difficult time for both individuals and businesses, and with the government’s latest guidance placing various cities on different stages of lockdown, the coronavirus pandemic continues. For this reason, we have chosen to donate the money we would normally spend on our Christmas party to support our charity of the year, Willow Foundation, and their Virtual Carol Concert.

We have supported the Willow Foundation for many years, attending their 20th Anniversary Willow Ball at The Savoy last November. The evening was magical with fine food, wine and entertainment all whilst raising money. At the end of the evening, awards were handed out and the charity raised almost £10,000 with support of The Big Give, who doubled the money raised.

Who are Willow?

Founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter Bob Wilson and his wife Megs, Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to provide uplifting and unforgettable Special Days.

Every year, the charity delivers more than 1,000 Special Days for young adults with illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease. Their Special Days allow the families of those affected to reconnect while enjoying an activity of their choosing. For many young adults, their Special Day is a vital respite from the daily struggles of serious illness.

In wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the Willow Foundation has adapted their service provision to ensure they are able to continue to support their beneficiaries. They are doing this by sending out positivity packs to the many beneficiaries who are self-isolating at home.

Willows Carol Concert

H&G Recruitment is an official sponsor of The Willow Virtual Carol Concert 2020.

Since 2009, the annual carol concert has been held at The Abbey, and it has become a hugely anticipated event for many of the charity’s supporters, with more than 600 guests regularly attending.

To keep everyone safe, the concert will look a little bit different this year. Still packed with all the usual carols, musical performances and more, we’ll be bringing the event to you at home. All you’ll need to do is cosy up with a mince pie, a glass of mulled wine and your nearest and dearest, and tune in online for a fun evening in support of Special Days.

Experience the incredible voices of Hertfordshire Chorus as they perform popular Christmas carols for you to sing along with at home. Not only this, but the brilliant and talented singer songwriter Eirra (aka Spod Bailey), who had her own Willow Special Day in 2019, will be performing an original song and sharing her Special Day story.

To get your FREE ticket and to receive the viewing link, simply register your interest. All donations will be gratefully received.
