At H&G Recruitment, we understand the importance of community and are passionate about supporting the great work of so many of the fantastic charities and great causes around us.

Each year we choose several charities for our organisation to support. In previous years we have given back to incredible causes such as Cancer ResearchNoah’s Ark & Claire House Children’s HospicesCare after Combat, and Keech Hospice Care.

All these causes rely on donations to fund the important work they do, so we hope that our fundraising efforts will go some way to help make a difference in the lives of the people they support.

In 2023 we have chosen to support the following fantastic organisations:

The Willow Foundation

Our support of The Willow Foundation has been ongoing for several years. The organisation, created by former footballer Bob Wilson and his wife in memory of their daughter, provides special day experiences for young adults diagnosed with serious illnesses.

Every special day aims to provide beneficiaries and their loved ones with a break from the realities of their diagnosis and treatment.

In 2019, we chose the organisation as our primary charity of the year and have since been active supporters of Willow, taking part in many of their fundraising events. This includes their Christmas Carol events, where last year, we donated a Tree that was raffled off at the event and our General Manager Adele took part in the bauble procession.

The Trussle Trust

We have also chosen to support Trussell Trust. This UK charity supports a nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency food to families and individuals who need it most. Their primary aim is to eliminate the need for food banks within the UK.

Unfortunately, following the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, charities like these are more important than ever.

The Trussell Trust support more than 14 million people living in poverty, including 4.5 million children. Between April 2019 and March 2020, the charity’s food banks were able to provide a record 1.9 million food supplies to people in crisis.

Our support this year started at Christmas when we donated to their food bank, and we will continue our support throughout the coming year.

CALM

The third charity we have plans to support in 2023 is CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), who work tirelessly to support people struggling with their mental health and change the conversation about mental health and suicide.

Male mental health is currently a big talking point in society. Suicide is one of the biggest killers of UK men under 45. That is why, as recruiters who specialise in the typically male-dominated industry of logistics, it is vital that we do our part to support this cause.

Alongside our support of this charity, we prioritise the mental health of the people around us, with support and initiatives including trained mental health first aiders, well-being courses, and effective HR processes.
