We are looking for an experienced, passionate Timber Frame Designer to join our client’s prestigious team based in Bedfordshire . As a Designer, you will be responsible for the production of effective and commercially efficient timber frame designs for a range of renowned national clients. Working as part of a close team, it will be vital to meet client expectations whilst liaising with other departments to achieve projects on time.

Role Summary

• Preparation of timber frame drawings in 2D and 3D formats including walls, floors, roofs, stair flights etc
• Ensuring designs deliver client requirements accurately to achieve approval to submit for offsite manufacture
• Build good working relationships with internal departments to be able to provide support and resolutions to queries
• Work with external parties such as architects, engineers, and contractors always providing excellent communication
• Complete process operating sheets to meet quality standards, building regulations, and health and safety requirements
• Support and manage trainee designers working in tandem on projects
• Participate in weekly design meetings, look at ways of continuous improvement, and support the Design Manager in achieving departmental objectives

Required

• 3+ years’ experience using Consultec, HSBcad, WoodEngine or similar software
• General experience in the structural design of timber frame buildings
• Knowledge of the construction industry
• Current technical knowledge of building regulations
