H&G Recruitment are one of the country`s fastest growing and leading logistic and HGV C+E Class 1, C Class 2 driver and industrial recruitment experts in the supply chain, we have large key account contracts with some of the largest blue chip distribution companies, national hauliers and supermarket chains in the country and we are currently looking for a Payroll Supervisor to join our accounts team based in St. Albans
The department is made up of an established vibrant team who currently support and process payroll for circa 1500 timesheets at around 50 clients. Due to our continued success and growth we are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to support the team and the weekly payroll function to ensure deadlines are met. The ideal candidate would at excel at team work as you would be required to work a long side our Credit Controller and Management Accountant, be a critical thinker and exceptionally proactive to getting a task done. Previous team management is advantageous but not essential as full training and support would be given.

Payroll Supervisor
Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:30
£24,000 – £27,000 dependant on experience
Tasks/duties/responsibilities will include but are not limited to
* Process time sheets summaries and invoices
* Complete CSV imports and exports
* Assist in providing support to the payroll team
* Confidently communicate with a wide range of stakeholders by phone and email
* Process weekly payroll and reporting including BACS, EDI, RTI, and Auto-enrolment
* Complete end of week reporting and end of month reporting by deadlines
* Manage pension contributions which are made through NEST
* Second tier and payroll company relationships, including weekly reporting and reconciling
Skills required
* Exceptional Excel and CSV knowledge
* Proficient with all other basic Microsoft Packages
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to lead and encourage a team
* Up to date knowledge relevant to payroll on PAYE, IR35 and temporary workforce management
Experience/Qualifications
* Previous experience either as a Payroll Supervisor or a Senior Payroll Clerk looking to take the next step in their career
* Extensive experience with payroll and accounting software, ideally Tempaid and Sage
* Excellent command of the English language both oral and written
