On Saturday 16th November, H&G Recruitment attended the 20th Anniversary Willow Ball in London’s most iconic hotel, The Savoy.

The evening was a magical night of fine food, wine and superb entertainment all whilst raising money for Willow’s ‘Special Days’.

The evening was hosted by Dara O’Briain and entertainment was provided by the amazing Mica Paris and James Morrison. Many of Willow’s supporters, volunteers and ambassadors were in attendance including Leah Williamson.

At the end of the evening, awards were handed out such as ‘Willow at Heart,’ which went to the team at Lee Stock Music Festival, an event organised in aid of Willow. The evening was truly special, and the charity has gone on to raise almost £10,000 with support of The Big Give, who are doubling the money raised.

Who are Willow?

Willow is a national charity that provides uplifting and unforgettable ‘Special Days’ for seriously ill adults aged between 16-40. Since opening in 1999, the charity has fulfilled more than 16,500 ‘Special Days’ for young adults living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease.

The charity’s special days are much more than a day out – they provide an uplifting and positive experience to be shared with a partner, parents, siblings, children or friends.

Bonnie, a Special Day Beneficiary, said:

‘Our Special Day at The Savoy made me feel that, despite all the awful things that have happened, that there is still so much good in the world and that’s such a comforting feeling. I felt so lucky and it just felt like the balance had been restored a bit. A once in a lifetime experience that made us forget about all the cancer rubbish for a while.’
