Develop your professional driving skills
The CPC driver training qualification promotes a positive image for the freight and logistics industry. It is for anyone keen to improve their knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis. Through CPC training at HG, we will provide all drivers with specialised training to help them become the most competent and proficient drivers they can be.
The Driver CPC, which stands for Driver Certificate of Professional Competence, is a qualification required by law for anyone wanting to drive an HGV, Bus, or coach (remove) professionally.
Recruitment specialists committed to finding your role.

What to expect from your CPC training
You must do 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) to drive a lorry, bus, or coach. We recommend that you do 7 hours annually to enjoy the benefit of ongoing periodic training and keep skills and knowledge fresh.
Each course must not be repeated so you must complete 5 different courses for your DQC card to be issued. Don’t let your CPC expire: you can be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without a valid Driver CPC, and your licence may become invalid. You can check online to see how many hours of CPC training you have in the current 5-year period.
It is a legal requirement for most category C, C+E or D licence holders
It is important to note that there are some exceptions.
If you are driving for personal use, you will not have to complete the Initial CPC Qualification.
If you passed your car test before Jan 1997 and have ‘Grandfather’ rights for a C1 vehicle, you DON’T need to do this. If you passed your Category C1, C or C+E test before Sept 2009, you DON’T need to do this. Everyone else MUST do this. If you are required to do the Initial Qualification and FAIL to do it, you are DRIVING ILLEGALLY and can have your licence revoked / face fines or imprisonment.

Driver licence acquisition
New drivers who pass the initial qualification will obtain a DQC (Driver Qualification Card, otherwise known as a CPC Card).
There are 2 types of Driver CPC – Initial Driver CPC, and Driver CPC Periodic training.
